Now let's jump right in.
Highlight of the Week
Getting published on Medium
This one’s quite special for me.
Before I launched Creative Block, I asked a few prominent writers on LinkedIn (DM) about whether I should post on Substack or Medium1. These two were the most suggested platform by the internet for writers who wants to build an audience. And the fact was many writers use either places or BOTH places to share their content.
Since I was just starting out, I needed a good and dedicated audience that can share my work with a wider community.
I ultimately settled down for Substack, since I felt it gave me much more options to interact with my readers. Moreover, it had many customisation features (I am a bit into the design), email options, analytics and so on.
But a few days ago, I got to know that you can ‘repurpose’ your posts and publish them on Medium. And that was the perfect opportunity for me to reach a wider audience who, just like you and me, love AI and Tech. So I published my recent articles on Medium.
Well, I had quite a good experience with Medium in the past when I was a content writer, but this time I was using it for my own purpose. I imported my posts from creative block and pitched them to many prominent publications on Medium.
My first post got published was “Bing and Bard: The A.I. and Search Race” with Artificial Intelligence in Plain English2. This is a quite popular publication about AI and I was quite surprised at how quickly they responded back and made me a contributing writer on their publication.
And second, my recent post - “A.I. is ALREADY Replacing Jobs in the US” got published on Towards AI publication3. I was quite excited to see my article on this publication, since Towards AI is one of the largest AI-related publications on Medium.
You can see my Medium Page on the homepage of Creative Block. I’m just experimenting with the Medium Platform, so it is exciting.
I have decided that the majority of the posts that are dedicated to my readers would be on Substack here only. Medium could be a place where I can publish my articles so that they can reach a wider audience. As I said, I am just experimenting out and seeing what works and what doesn't.
So with that said, I’ll still post all my writings here ‘first’ on Creative Block. Then if the post is worthy of reaching a wider audience, I’ll share it on Medium. This way, my readers on Creative Block would have the first access to my every post.
