The Highlight of the Week
First few weeks on Medium
In the previous On My Feeds issue, I told you guys about my new medium page. And after a week, I can finally see some growth on my Medium Page. I started this as a part of an experiment, and by far it is working pretty well.
As you can see, we have nearly 1.3k views and 557 reads on one of my recent articles. Since I am just starting out, this progress is not bad for me, considering that I have recently started to write on Medium.
Reddit Discussion
I will admit. I am not an active Reddit user. In fact, for a long time, I have tried to stay away from it. My acquaintances who use Reddit regularly seem to waste the majority of their time searching the toxic and dangerous ‘front page’ of the internet. At least, that's how it seemed to me. Reddit seemed to be unnecessarily addictive and toxic (not all the time though, as you will see).
But recently, I tried to test this platform out and at least TRY to get familiar with the site. Previously, I used it only to share my content and connect with writers like me. Reddit is the third largest source of traffic in this newsletter, so it is a pretty good channel to share my content with the world. However, there's one key thing that I have found interesting.
While Reddit may be a toxic place, it can’t be denied that it is one of the best destinations to create and find a community. In this sense, the ‘front page of the internet’ title seems justified enough if you want to connect with people who share similar interests as yours. In my opinion, the vastness of the different types of communities on Reddit makes it different from other social media or forums. By the way, is Reddit a social media or a forum?
Anyways, a few days ago when I published this post, I shared it with Reddit. Then I asked people (or redditors) about their opinion and takes on this post, just out of curiosity. And to be honest, I never thought that I would get to learn so much. For the first time, Reddit seemed like a place where, if you used the platform correctly, you can learn a lot.
Here is the post that I am talking about,
And the responses were quite interesting
And many more
I realised that I was wrong somewhere while assessing Reddit. It may or may not be a ‘toxic’ place if you know how to use it well. And if you use it correctly, it's actually a lot of fun. And best of all, I got to learn a lot of things.
I will try to be active on Reddit and let's see by the end of the week if my perception changes or remains the same.
By the way, just to mention, I have joined this Reddit page AILinksandTools by
. If you know him, he runs a substack newsletter by the name of and shares awesome content on Artificial Intelligence and Tech. If you are interested in this topic, you can learn about his Reddit page here -Illustrations on Twitter
I have observed that the majority of the content on the internet regarding AI and Technology are dry and well…boring. And while I am a big enthusiast in Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing, even I get bored while reading about AI on the internet. Either they are too general or too rigorous.
While my newsletter is not rigorous and not too general, I try my best to deliver the message of my writing in as engaging way as possible. I add illustrations in almost every post - either AI-generated or illustrations made by me. This way, the newsletter becomes interesting to my readers and thus makes it ‘creative’.
So I applied this same philosophy on my Twitter page as well. Here are some of the posts that I posted on Twitter.
I will continue to add these illustrations on Twitter and make AI interesting to the readers. It is really a fun activity for me to draw these illustrations and share them with my readers.
Meanwhile, let us move on to the next feeds.
